David John Salon had its origins in a purpose built portable building in Widford Road Chelmsford in 1971 whilst the building in Moulsham Street was being constructed.
Moving to Moulsham Street in 1973.
After David completed his apprenticeship he was fortunate at being accepted as one of the first external trainees at Vidal Sassoon in London during the 60s working under Vidal himself and establishing a celebrity client base.
Following an extremely successful 20 years of building up the business to be one of the most renowned in Essex for its professionalism and fantastic team of staff, David decided to sell the business in the early 90s.

We are very proud to have our very own in house Colour Technician who has attained various colour degrees.
So for more technical colour work where other hairdressers just cannot get that right colour for you, we would like to think we can.

Do I need a patch test for colour?
Only if it's your first time with us or you've not had any colour treatments with us within 6 months.
The test has to be done 48 hours before your colour treatment.
Can I cancel my appointment?
The majority of our clients do not cancel.
If you have to cancel, we just need 24 hours notice before your scheduled appointment or a full payment will be required.
