Started life in 2001 when Teresa opened her first salon in Chicago Illinois with just herself. This year we celebrate 16 years of success with our new salon in the heart of Gallowgate. DeGenesis has become synonymous with creative and innovative hair, earning itself an unrivaled reputation specializing in Euro, Afro Caribbean and Afro hairdressing, styling and beauty.
I wouldn't go anywhere else! I had 3 tracks put in using my own hair and I always get information on the process before we start, these guys are amazing at what they do total hair gods! 100% would recommend! Would not go to any other salon. They have all the time in the world for you and are super friendly group of beautiful women. If there's an issue they fix the problem straight away and do their best to accommodate fussy people like me.

We recommend that you wash and condition your hair right before your appointment (ideally also blow it out for braiding).
We are more than happy to blow out your hair for you, but it will require more time.
If you're getting a style that requires extensions, please purchase the hair and have it ready to go before your appointment or you can purchase hair from our salon selection.
You can request a specific stylist; however, because our stylists are matched to incoming appointments based on their availability we can't guarantee that you'll be matched to your requested stylist.
